Shoppers Drug Mart Event

This weekend Shoppers had an event,  if you spent $75.00 you get a bonus 18, 500 Optimum points. That's like a $25.00 redemption value. I alway try and remember that just because there is a points event it doesn't mean I need to go out and shop. But if you watch for the sales on products you use and coupons, you can really get more for your money.My shopping trip below worked out to almost free when you take into account the points I earned, the money I saved with coupons and the coupons I will get back from a promotion.

PepsiCo is having a promotion. If you spend $20.00 on their products, they will send you $20.00 in coupons.

My bill should have been $138.01. With sales and coupons I saved $47.38.  I spent $90.63 and got 1060 base points, 1000 coupon use points, 18 500 event points, 3000 bonus points for using my Optimum Master Card for a total of 23 560 points today.Thats a $30.00 redemption! So now for $138.01 of merchandise I paid $60.63 a savings of 56.07% and I get $20.00 in coupons from the PepsiCo rebate.

Some would look at the future savings in coupons as bringing down their total further making the $138.01 of products $40.63 for a saving of 70.56%. But I'll settle for the 56.07% savings for today!
